Benue ALGON gets new leaders

The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Benue State Chapter, has elected new leaders with Mr. Vitalis Neji, Executive Chairman Kwande Local Government Council (LGC) as the Chairman.

Mr. Neji succeeds Mr. Maurice Orwough, Guma LGC Chairman, after an election on Tuesday, August 26 in Makurdi, the Benue State capital.

TNT learnt that members of the ALGON Benue State had, during the meeting, resolved to restructure its Executive Council to six positions to ensure equity and fairness in representation, with each zone holding two positions.

After the ballot, Mr. Neji (Kwande LGC) was returned as Chairman with Mr. Melvin Ejeh (Agatu LGC) as Deputy Chairman, and Mr. Adi Timothy Nyiakura (Gwer East LGC), as Secretary.

Others are Mr. Adole Gabriel Adole (Ohimini LGC) as Treasurer, Mr. Zege Raymond (Buruku LGC) as Publicity Secretary, and Mr. Shaku Justine (Katsina Ala LGC), as Welfare Secretary.
