2027: ‎Former Benue NSIP Focal Person, Damsa, declares for Sankera Rep seat

Date:

Former Focal Person of the National Social Investments Programme (NSIP) in Benue State, Dr. Terris Damsa, has disclosed his intention to run for the Katsina-Ala/Ukum/Logo (Sankera) Federal Constituency seat ahead of the 2027 general elections. He will be contesting on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Dr. Damsa made his intention known on Friday, July 25, at Logo Local Government Area (LGA) in his hometown of Ayilamo.

The former Benue NSIP Focal Person told TNT on the phone that he is offering himself for service because he believes he “can make a meaningful difference in the lives of the good people of Sankera Federal Constituency.”

He is counting on his experience and exposure to deliver effective representation for the people of Sankera.

“I have worked in the Executive and Legislative branches of Government. I have worked with different multinational corporations, helping them achieve preferred outcomes in the policy and legislative spectrum. I want to bring the totality of that experience and exposure to deliver effective representation for my people of Sankera Federal Constituency,” Dr. Damsa explained.

The PDP man noted that he is driven by a passion to serve, listen, and work tirelessly to address the pressing needs and challenges, especially in the area of security.

“Agriculture is the mainstay of the people of Sankera, and the current dire security situation has completely crippled their livelihoods and development. Our people are suffering, their material condition is appalling, and I hold the well-considered view that our voice hasn’t been sufficiently heard. I am, therefore, committed to being the voice for my people.

“Third, I am contesting because I believe it is the turn of Logo Local Government, as per zoning, to produce the next member of the House of Representatives. My hat is in the ring.

“I have received parental blessings. I have today received the blessings of Mbaiwem and Tombo Area Traditional Councils. I have received the blessing of the PDP in my Tombo Ward. In the coming days, I will be making a formal declaration to the PDP structure in Logo and the whole of Sankera Federal Constituency.

“It is my hope that I shall win the primary of my party and then go ahead to win the general election in 2027 by the grace and help of God,” Dr. Damsa stated.
