Menroi Rural Priority Foundation is participating in a series of activities towards ending violence in Benue State.
A recent example of such an activity is the town hall organised by News Central TV.
Representatives from Menroi, including Moses Toor, Agudu Samson, and Agudu Stephanie, participated in the town hall meeting, which was held on July 10, 2025, at Nnam Hall and Hotels Makurdi. The purpose of the meeting was to address the worsening security crisis in Benue State, Nigeria.
The event, according to Agudu, highlighted that violence in the state has escalated beyond isolated farmer-herder clashes, now described as organised genocidal attacks and ethnic cleansing.
Despite government efforts, Agudu said speakers insisted that intervention has been inadequate and called for immediate, decisive action from both federal and state authorities.
“The collective sentiment expressed was a desperate cry for justice and humanitarian support, with demands for full enforcement of security laws, recognition of the killings as organised war, and urgent measures to protect lives, restore peace, and enable displaced communities to return to their homes and livelihoods,” Agudu told TNT.
