Tiv Community in UK represents Nigeria at African Diaspora Festival (ADF) 2025 in Milton Keynes.

Led by Barr. Cllr. Lois Hembadoon Adura, the Tiv community showcased their rich culture during the Ultimate Afro-Summer Celebration held on July 5, 2025. The festival’s theme, “The History of African Fabrics/Textiles and Patterns,” aimed to highlight the diverse cultures of several African countries, including Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Somalia, Sudan, Sierre Leone, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Tanzania.

The event featured live music, DJs, cultural performances, traditional dances, a fashion show, food and business stalls, henna and face painting, as well as raffle prizes.

A strong representation from the Tiv community attended the festival, including Barr. Cllr. Lois Hembadoon Adura who participated in organising the event, MUTUK executives – Dr. Rebecca Kral (Secretary General), Dr. Kurannen Baaki (Assistant General Secretary), and Mrs Eric Chikwendu (Welfare Secretary), former MUTUK President – Professor Kohol Iornem, and former MUTUK Publicity Secretary – Ms. Salome Biam, along with many other members of the Tiv community in the United Kingdom.

The President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, also joined the Nigerian community in celebrating this occasion, alongside Mayor of Milton Keynes Cllr. James Lancaster and several local MPs representing Milton Keynes.
