The Executive Governor of Benue State, Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has approved Prof. Qrisstuberg Msughter Amua’s appointment as the Vice-Chancellor of Benue State University of Agriculture, Science and Technology (BSUAST), Ihugh.
Other key appointments at the university made by the governor include the Registrar, Dr. Johnson Ijale Echor, the Bursar, Mr. James Ormye, and the University Librarian, Dr. Demekaa Umbur.
In May this year, the National Universities Commission (NUC) granted Benue State Government a provisional licence to establish the university after the Benue State lawmaking organ passed a bill to that effect.
Other appointments as contained in a press statement issued by Sir Tersoo Kula, Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Governor, are the Acting General Manager, Benue State Environmental Sanitation Authority (BENSESA), Mr. Anta Igbaato, Acting Executive Secretary, Teaching Service Board (TSB), Mr. Bem Tseen, Acting Chairman, Benue Internal Revenue Service (BIRS), Mr. Joseph Kwaghgba, and Prof Ofe Boniface Ogbu, Provost College of Education Oju.
TNT understands that the appointments are effective July 7, 2025.
According to Sir Kula’s statement, this development furthers the governor’s commitment to repositioning all government institutions for optimal service delivery, efficiency, and accountability.
“The new appointees were carefully selected based on their competence, dedication, and integrity track record.
“The Governor congratulates them and charges them to justify the confidence reposed in them by discharging their duties diligently and in line with the administration’s vision of transforming Benue State,” part of the statement reads.
It further adds that “the present acting Executive Secretary, Teaching Service Board, and the Acting Chairman Benue Internal Revenue Services are both directed to report back to the Head of Service for reassignment of other responsibilities, while the acting General Manager, BENSESA, is to report back to the Governor’s office.”
