Former Vice Chancellor of Kwararafa University Taraba State, Prof. Yakubu Ochefu, has expressed readiness to contribute his expertise and network to enhance the impact of Menroi Rural Priority Foundation’s menstrual health and hygiene projects.Prof. Ochefu indicated this when a delegation from Menroi paid him a condolence visit last Sunday, 11th May, 2025, over the demise of his mother, Mammy Ochefu.
The former Kwarafa University Vice-Chancellor has been a longstanding friend and supporter of Menroi, investing in the foundation’s vision and is thrilled by Menroi’s HEAL – Health, Education, and Access Link – project.
He, therefore, pledged both financial and expertise support for the success of the HEAL project.
Menroi’s Director of Programmes, Miss Sophia Kwaghzan, delivered the condolence letter on behalf of the foundation.
Prof. Kohol Iornem, the founder of Menroi, reminded Prof. Ochefu in a mobile phone conversation that Mammy Ochefu lived an exemplary life and would be remembered for the things she stood for.
Mammy Ochefu was the one who birthed what is today known as Mammy Market in military bases and barracks across Nigeria.
The Menroi delegation for the visit included Miss Ana Ortserga, Project Management Officer; Miss Sophia Kwaghzan, Programmes Director; Mr. Mhen John Kwaghzan, Media and Communication Officer; and Mrs. Sonia Agudu, Human Resource Officer.
