The founder of Mzehemen U Tiv Foundation (MUTIF) and United Kingdom-based education consultant Dr. Kohol Iornem, Professor of Business Management, has called on the people of Benue State to stand firmly in support and solidarity with the Governor, Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, on his fervent efforts to curb insecurity in the state.
Prof. Iornem also said that Benue State was at a trying moment in history, and it was sad to witness a once peaceful land being ravaged and dripped in blood by the strange killers in the garb of herdsmen.
While acknowledging that Fr. Alia was doing his best to curb the menace of herdsmen killings against innocent Benue farmers, the renowned humanitarian called on all citizens to rise to the occasion in support of the genuine steps taken by the governor.
The APC Chieftain equally lauded the governor’s recent call for state police as a solution to ending the carnage across states in the country, emphasising that such calls were meant to intensify surveillance and swiftly respond to issues of insecurity across various communities.
He highlighted some of the genuine steps taken by the governor, including the establishment of the Benue State Civil Protection Guards, the purchase of security vehicles for surveillance and patrol, prioritising the welfare of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), lobbying from the Federal Government for construction of resettlement homes for IDPs, and the recent collaborations with relevant stakeholders including the National Security Adviser, in a bid to end killings as part of efforts been pursued by the governor to curb insecurity in the state.
Prof. Iornem, who also lauded the governor’s firm resolve to sustain the law against open grazing in the state, called on all leaders and political stakeholders to join hands with the governor in his quest to bring peace and development to Benue State.
He, therefore, cautioned mischief makers against politicising the security situation in the state for political gains, urging them to become patriots as insecurity in the state calls for the concern of every meaningful resident of Benue State.
The MUTIF founder, therefore, extended sympathy to families and communities who have lost loved ones across Benue, expressing optimism that peace would soon return to the State for development to thrive in the paramount interest of the people.

Very patriotic call Prof Kohol Shadrach Iornem
