Ex-Senate President, Mark leads charge to unseat APC

Former President of the Senate, Sen David Alechenu Bonaventure Mark, has taken over as Interim National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Members of the opposition in Nigeria from different opposition parties adopted ADC to push for power take over and have settled for the former two times Senate President to lead the charge.

Former governor of Osun State and former President Muhammadu Buhari’s Interior Minister, Rauf Aregbesola, is appointed as the interim national secretary. The new leaders of the party were unveiled at the Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja.

Sen Mark has since resigned his membership of the main opposition party, People’s Democratic Party (PDP), where he was a foundation member.

The coalition is made up of former governors, former National Assembly members, and party administrators.

In attendance during the unveiling include former Governors Sen Gabriel Suswam, Jibrilla Bindow (Adamawa), Emeka Ihedioha (Imo), Rotimi Amaechi and Aminu Tambuwal.

Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar; Peter Obi; Nasir El-Rufai; Abubakar Malami, immediate past Attorney-General of the Federation; John Oyegun, former Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC); Ireti Kingibe, lawmaker representing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT); Victor Umeh, senator representing Anambra Central.

Also present were Solomon Dalung, former minister of youth and sports; Dele Momodu, a media personality and scores of other political bigwigs.
