Resign from office, anti-APC crusader urges PBAT

Date:

Anti – All Progressives Congress (APC) crusader, Mr. Teryila Peter Vande has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT), head of the Nigerian government and leader of APC, to resign from office.

Mr. Vande, who has been critical of the APC government since the defection of Mr. Herman Hembe, the 2023 Labour Party (LP) gubernatorial candidate in Benue State, from the APC, made the call in a Facebook post, eliciting reactions.

He suggested that since the President “swore an oath to protect lives and property of citizens,” he is bound by his oath.

The anti-APC crusader has repeatedly suggested that LP could have done better, and today’s call follows the meeting of an emerging political group, the National Political Consultative Group, with Mr. Hembe in attendance.

In urging PBAT to resign, Mr. Vande says the governor of his home state should also follow suit because they both took “an oath to protect lives and property.”

Mr. Vande’s grouse is that “Human lives are going.”

“Life cannot be replaced by any Governor or President,” he said.

One critic says rather than call for resignation, Mr. Vande should concentrate his energy on mobilising support for his preferred candidates in 2027.
