Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Mata State Constituency of Ushongo Local Government Area (LGA) have expressed confidence that APC will win the 2027 Mata State Constituency election in 2027, ensuring the return of Simon Gabo for a second term in the State Assembly.
The APC members, through a group known as Mata APC Integrity Group for Gabo (MAIGG), shared this sentiment in a press statement issued by their secretary, Mr Tertindi Geri.
According to the statement, the incumbent’s victory is guaranteed by his antecedents and the lack of serious challengers.
It noted that the other political parties lack the people’s goodwill.
The statement was particular that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) squandered the goodwill it had earlier enjoyed through “politics of exclusion and inability to deliver good governance.”
MAIGG dismissed other political parties, including the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Accord Party, and All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), as having no presence in Mata and, as such, are not viable competitors.
The statement concluded by calling on APC members in Mata and Ushongo LGA to unite and work toward the party’s victory in the forthcoming elections.
