The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the 2027 Kwande/Ushongo Federal Constituency election, Prof Kohol Iornem, has advised the couple, Dr. Kurannen and Mrs Erdoo Baaki to “choose to love everyday” in their union.
Dr. Kurannen and Mrs Erdoo first met in January 2020 and were joined in holy matrimony later that year.
Last week, they travelled to Nigeria from the UK, where they reside, to subject themselves to the celebration of marriage according to Tiv tradition and customs. The events took place at Baaki Igboko compound, Mbajoho, Ukan, Ushongo Local Government Area (LGA).
Prof. Kohol, a friend of Dr. Kurannen and Kwande/Ushongo APC candidate who attended the marriage celebration sees marriage as a beautiful journey that thrives on deliberate effort and mutual respect and urged the couples to prioritise open communication, act as a united team, and forgive quickly.
The APC man seized the opportunity to remind the people that he was in the race to serve as their representative, to show them how to catch fish and brake the long held tradition of dangling food at the led during election cycles.
Dr. Kurannen, who described Prof. Kohol, as “a fine gentleman with hunger for impactful leadership” said the people of Kwande/Ushongo will not be disappointed if they elect him to take the lead in their affairs at the National Assembly.
He assured the APC candidate of his support for the actualisation of his ambition and prayed God to grant him victory.
Speaking on the significance of the marriage celebration, Dr. Kurannen said it was in “fulfilment of the tradition of his people and to reconnect with them after more than a decade of life abroad.”
Dr. Kurannen and Erdoo are already blessed with two children: a son, who is four and a daughter, who is one.
Scores turned out to share in their joy.
