The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the 2027 Kwande/Ushongo Federal Constituency election, Prof. Kohol Iornem, has reiterated his commitment to the development of education.

On Saturday, May 23, Prof Kohol received the leadership of the Kwande/Ushongo Students Association (KUSA) at his residence in what is seen as a strategic engagement aimed at strengthening the relationship between students and leadership, while discussing issues of educational advancement and youth development.

He encouraged the student leaders to remain focused on academic excellence, responsible leadership, and community service.

The Kwande/Ushongo APC candidate assured the delegation of his accessibility and willingness to respond to matters affecting students whenever the need arises, emphasising that his doors remain open to genuine and constructive requests.

During the interactive session, several students shared remarkable testimonies of Prof Kohol’s benevolence and responsiveness. Some recounted how they had reached out to him through messages despite having no prior personal relationship with him.

According to their testimonies, Prof Kohol responded promptly to their requests and provided the necessary assistance without hesitation.

Observers say the accounts served as a reflection of Prof Kohol’s longstanding commitment to humanitarian service, educational support, and the empowerment of young people within and beyond Kwande/Ushongo Federal Constituency.

Prof Kohol, who reiterated his firm belief in the transformative power of education and the indispensable role of students in nation-building, disclosed that, upon his successful election to the House of Representatives, he intends to establish a direct channel of communication between his office and the student community through the appointment of a Students’ Liaison Representative.

He explained that the development would ensure that the needs, aspirations, and challenges of students across Kwande/Ushongo Federal Constituency are effectively communicated and adequately addressed.

The distinguished scholar and politician also reaffirmed his commitment to championing policies and initiatives that will promote educational development, youth empowerment, scholarship opportunities, and sustainable human capital growth throughout the constituency.
