Former President/Vice – Chancellor Admiralty University, Ibusa, Prof. Leonard Shilgba has challenged politicians of Benue extraction to emphasise issue-based campaigns as the people brace for the 2027 general election.
Prof. Shilgba made his views public in his comments on the state of affairs in Benue, the Nigeria’s Food Basket State.
He said at this moment, “aspirants to the offices of Governor and Legislator ought to articulate their vision on systematic Social Welfare and Community Security as well as the pieces of legislation they would sponsor in facilitation.”
Prof Shilgba also dismissed those who abuse and demean their opponents as lacking in vision and capacity.
“The use of abusive, demeaning, and vulgar words against political opponents is a demonstration of lack of vision, capacity, or creativity,” he said.
According to Prof Shilgba, “the sooner Benue people and Nigerians hold their politicians to a higher standard the quicker our collective progress and common prosperity.”
