The All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Professor Kohol Iornem, has congratulated Governor Hyacinth Alia on receiving the chieftaincy title ‘Asôrtar-U-Tiv’ from the Tor Tiv, Orchivirigh Professor James Ayatse.
Professor Kohol Iornem, in a statement, describes the honour as well deserved, saying Governor Alia’s commitment to economic transformation and infrastructure renewal, as evident in new industrial projects, road interventions, and empowerment schemes, amongst others, has stimulated growth, creating job opportunities across Benue State.
He notes that the title truly reflects what the Governor represents – someone who is repositioning the State on the right trajectory of socio-economic and political development – and sues for sustained support for the Alia administration to record more successes.
Professor Iornem also extends best wishes to other distinguished personalities who were conferred with chieftaincy titles and prays for them in their endeavours.
18 eminent Nigerians were conferred with Tiv honorific chieftaincy titles by the Tor Tiv on Saturday, December 13, at the grand finale of 2025 Tiv Day in Gboko, the administrative headquarters of the Tiv Nation.
