Erstwhile Publicity Secretary of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Benue State Chapter, and 2027 gubernatorial aspirant of the party, Chief Bemgba Iortyom, Esq., has denounced the security arrangement by Governors of states from Northern Nigeria.
The Northern States Governors Forum had last week agreed to set up a regional security fund, with each state in the region contributing the sum of One Billion Naira monthly to help fight insecurity.
Chief Iortyom, who addressed journalists in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), urged the people of the state to “reject the so-called Northern Security Trust Fund.”
According to Chief Iortyom, contributing to the “Northern Security Trust Fund” will only “fund the activities of those who have for over a decade been killing and plundering” the lands of the people of Benue State.
He explained that Benue’s interests and security cannot be served under the “Northern Security Arrangement,” as such, the people must reject it in totality.”
