PDP expels FCT Minister, Wike, others

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday, November 15, expelled former Rivers State Governor and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Nyesome Wike; the factional chairman of the party, Mr Samuel Anyanwu; and former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, citing anti-party activities.

Former PDP Board of Trustees Chairman, Mr Bode George, moved the motion for their expulsion. The motion, which the party’s members unanimously supported at its ongoing National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, was seconded by Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohamed.

Also expelled are the PDP National Legal Adviser, Adeyemi Ajibade, SAN; Umar Bature; AbdulRahman Mohammed; Mao Chuambuwa; George Turner; Austin Nwachukwu; Abraham Ammah; and Dan Orbih.

17 delegates from each State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, are attending the convention.

PDP bigwigs present at the convention are Governor Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Governor Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa), Governor Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Governor Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), Governor Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau) and the PDP National Chairman, Umar Damagum.

Others are the Senate Minority Leader, Abba Moro; a former governor of Osun, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, his Gombe counterpart, Senator Ibrahim Dankwambo; and the Board of Trustees chairman, Senator Adolphus Wabara; and a chieftain of the party, among others.
