The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) Benue State chapter has entered into contracts with contractors to construct at least 5 kilometres of roads in each of the 23 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Benue State.
18 LGAs are selected to benefit from the first phase of the roads projects, Comr. Emmanuel Akade, Media Aide to Kwande Local Government Council (LGC) Chairman and ALGON Chairman Benue State, told TNT.
On Friday, November 14, the ALGON Chairman in the state, Hon Neji Vitalis, and other council chairs met with representatives of the contractors to finalise execution arrangements.
According to a statement by Akade, “The first phase focuses on upgrading 5km of road networks within each Local Government Headquarters, aimed at improving mobility, stimulating local economies, and enhancing access to government services.”
Five contracting firms are scheduled to execute the project in the 18 LGAs.
The schedule is as follows: Makurdi, Gwer East and Gwer West with TRIACTA (Nig) Ltd as the contracting firm, Katsina-Ala, Ukum, Logo, Buruku, Gboko and Ushongo with the contracting firm as ARKAN Builders Ltd., Okpokwu, Otukpo, Ado and Guma, with H&R Concepts and Investment Ltd., Obi and Oju, with Sefaco Global Contract as the contracting firm and Kwande, Va deijya and Konshisha with Sekab (Nig) Ltd. as the contracting firm.
