The headteacher of LGEA School Aboho, near Wannune in Tarka Local Government Area (LGA) of Benue State, Mrs. Aatsav Ngunan, has petitioned the Commissioner of Police, Benue State Command, over allegations of criminal force, assault, causing bodily harm, and hostage-taking against the Chairman of the Association of Nigeria Hunters, Tarka Branch, Mr. Terlumun Abashia, Mwuese Kudam, and others.
According to the petition dated October 29, 2025, and obtained by TNT, Mrs. Aatsav was assaulted—resulting in bodily injuries, on the instruction of Mr. Abashia, in a matter that had already been settled by the Benue State Civil Protection Guards (BSCPG).
Her alleged offence, she said, was naming suspects in the case of her stolen “iron truck (cart),” which was later recovered from among the suspects.
Mrs. Aatsav expressed concern that none of the hunters had been arrested for questioning, raising fears for her safety.
“The culprits are moving about freely, boasting that they have dealt with me,” Mrs. Aatsav, who is currently receiving treatment in a hospital, told TNT.
As of the time of filing this report, no arrests had been made.
