Nigeria gets new service chiefs

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT) has appointed new Service Chiefs in furtherance of the Federal Government of Nigeria’s efforts to strengthen the national security architecture, according to a State House press statement.

The new Service Chiefs are General Olufemi Oluyede, Chief of Defence Staff, Major-General W. Shaibu, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Air Vice Marshall S.K. Aneke, Chief of Air Staff (CAS), and Rear Admiral I. Abbas, Chief of Naval Staff (CNS).

According to the State House press statement signed by Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Major-General E.A.P. Undiendeye retains his position as the Chief of Defence Intelligence (CDI).

The statement further notes that PBAT expresses its most profound appreciation to the outgoing Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, and the other Service Chiefs for their patriotic service and dedicated leadership.

He urges the newly appointed Service Chiefs to justify the confidence reposed in them, thereby further enhancing the professionalism, vigilance, and comradeship that define the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
