The Chief of Military Intelligence (CMI) (Nigerian Army (NA)), Major General Aliyu Idris, has charged newly promoted senior officers of the Corps to uphold the highest standards of integrity in the discharge of their duties.
Gen Idris gave the charge during the decoration ceremony of the officers on September 16 at Brigadier General AU Kuliya Auditorium, Headquarters Nigerian Army Intelligence Corps (HQ NAIC), Abuja, Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The CMI reminded the officers that they have now assumed the responsibilities of senior officers in the NA while urging them to avoid disciplinary cases and strive for excellence, particularly as it reflects in their performance evaluation reports.
Gen Idris, who described the promotion of the officers as a reward for hard work and a motivation to rise to the challenges of the prevailing security environment in the country, further urged them to maintain absolute loyalty to constituted authority.
According to Lieutenant Chivir Joel, Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Headquarters Nigerian Army Intelligence Corps, those decorated include Capt HS Abdulkadir, Capt MO John, Capt GR Yusuf, and Capt A Muhammad, who were all elevated to the rank of Major.
Major Gbolahan Folayan and Lieutenant Colonel Dooyum Madza advised the newly promoted officers to remain focused, dedicated, and committed in service to the nation.
Speaking on behalf of the promoted officers, Major Hamza Abdulkadir expressed profound appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, for graciously approving their promotion. He also acknowledged the guidance of the CMI (NA), as well as the support of colleagues and well-wishers who contributed to the success of the event.
Maj Abdulkadir assured that the newly promoted officers would continue to uphold the core values of the Nigerian Army and discharge their constitutional responsibilities with integrity, loyalty, and dedication.
