Members of the 10th Benue Assembly have elected Hon. Alfred Emberga, Makurdi North (APC), as the new speaker.
Hon. Emberga was elevated to the office shortly after his and three others’ three-month suspensions were lifted.
The others who have their suspension lifted are Cyril Ekong, Oju II (APC), Terna Shimawua, Kyan (APC), and Hon. Abu Umoru, Apa.
Yesterday, the new speaker was heard telling his constituents at his private residence that the events that happened in the state assembly were not unusual.
He now takes the chair of the man who, a few days ago, ruled for his suspension.
By this development, the leadership of the 10th Benue Assembly has changed.
