The founder and Executive Director of Mzehemen U Tiv Foundation (MUTF), Prof. Kohol Shadrach Iornem, Senior Lecturer at Regent College London, on Sunday, August 17, supported the renovation of a facility at NKST Healthcare Centre Aku, Ushongo Local Government Area (LGA).
Prof Kohol gave the support during a combined thanksgiving service to celebrate his father’s 76th birthday anniversary, as well as thank God for his outing during the 2023 general election.
The MUTF founder was a candidate in the 2023 Kwande/Ushongo Federal Constituency election, coming second in his home LGA, Ushongo.
Since his August visit to Nigeria, the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain has been meeting with local party leaders, opinion leaders, groups and his team members including a surprise birthday visit to his father during which he presented him with Community Impact Award on behalf of MUTF.
“I have come to give thanks to God and to support whatever church project that you may have,” Prof. Kohol told NKST Aku congregation.
He explained that although he ran for the 2023 election on the platform of “a small (political) party,” he enjoyed overwhelming support from his home LGA.
Speaking with party faithful, comprising Kwande and Ushongo LGAs, at the New Idea ground, Tse- Nyagba village, Prof. Kohol said he thought it wise to meet, greet, and familiarise with them as one of them that has recently joined the governing party.
Prof. Kohol joined APC in the first quarter of 2025. In spite of living in London, he has been supporting events at home in Nigeria, including development projects, TNT understands.
He was commended for recognising the need to bring the party together, a lesson that should be imbibed by all people of good conscience.
Ushongo Local Government Council (LGC) Chairman, Hon Terkimbi Adzu and wife of the Majority Leader, Benue State Assembly, Mrs. Dooshima Tiseer, both commended Prof. Kohol, for recognising the need to come back to identify with party men and women, he earlier this year changed party platform to join.
According to the Ushongo LGA party chair, Tersoo Nyam, only a few politicians will do what Prof. Kohol had done and thanked the MUTF founder for joining APC to work for the progress of the state.
Others who spoke, including Ahundu Ber, Yawe Solomon, Barr. Terhemba Shior, and Woman Leader, Alice Anyôr, in welcoming the Ushongo born, expressed gratitude to the APC chieftain for his thoughtfulness, indicating their readiness to work with him in the overriding interest of Kwande/Ushongo Federal Constituency.
Earlier during the church service, the Pastor in Charge of NKST Aku, Rev. Wisdom Terna Ayaka charged Christians to make their good name known to God so that He will elevate them.
He urged Prof. Kohol to keep faith in God so that when he is elevated to the position he is seeking, he would help the people to recover that which they have lost.
Prof. Kohol later paid homage on the District Head of Mbakuhwa, Tyoor Aondoaver Anchile.
