PBAT confers OON on Super Falcons, gifts each 3-bedroom flat, $100,000

Date:

Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT) has given each member of the victorious Super Falcons $100,000 and a 3-bedroom apartment. They have also been conferred with the National Honour of the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).

The Super Falcons staged an incredible comeback from two goals down in the 63rd minute, scoring three goals in 22 minutes to beat the Atlass Lionesses of Morocco and claim their 10th continental title. The prize money for the championship is $1 million.

PBAT, while receiving the players and the technical team at the Villa on Monday, July 28, commended them for their “indomitable spirit of resilience, determination and courage.”

The Super Falcons were led on the historic fiesta by head coach Justin Madugu.

They battled through the group stage, eliminating Zambia and South Africa and finally avenging their painful 2022 semi-final exit to Morocco in a dramatic final showdown in Rabat on July 26.
