CrossRiverWatch publisher Agba Jalingo offers to help police on Obudu murder

Date:

The Publisher of CrossRiverWatch, Mr. Agba Jalingo, has offered to help security agencies hunt and bring to book the murderers of Mr. Ternenge Iorkyaa Ikpanor of Tsar, Vandeikya Local Government Area (LGA), in Obudu, Cross River State.

Mr. Ternenge, a.k.a Agege, was brutally stoned and macheted to death last Friday in the neighbouring town of Obudu, “under circumstances that are not only criminal but also inhuman and barbaric,” the Ikpanor Agege family said in a statement.

Yesterday, the Cross River State Police Command said it arrested Mr. Adeshina Gilbert, 35, for the alleged murder of Agege.

However, Mr. Agba, in a post on his Facebook page, Agba Jalingo, where he offered to help security agencies, gave the identities of the principal actors who apparently sniffed life out of Agege as Azonto and his cousin. “Their father’s name is Akikieye Ugbadu, and their compound is along Liberty Road (Ukwel Obudu road) in Obudu,” Mr. Agba stated.

According to the narration of Mr. Agba, one person was killed by the same suspects before the execution of Agege, which went viral.

According to Mr. Agba, Azonto, with his cohorts, had previously “led the mob that dragged another innocent Igbo girl, China, to the cyclists park where she was burnt to death some years ago.”

He explained that Agege and the other unidentified person were not “at war with anyone” and “were simply looking for their daily bread in Obudu town as they have always done.

“They trusted Obudu people and believed that since they weren’t involved in any hostility, they were not going to be hurt. But our people betrayed that trust and killed them in one of the most grotesque manner I have ever seen all my life.”
