Benue Assembly recalls last seven members from suspension

The Benue State Assembly, on Tuesday, July 22, plenary recalled the remaining seven of the 13 members suspended in February this year.

Those whose suspension has been lifted in the latest move by the assembly include Hon. Douglas Terkume Akya (Makurdi South); Hon. Mrs Becky Orpin (Gboko East); Hon. Manger Manger (Tarka); Hon. Ezra Nyiyongo (Ukum); Rt. Hon. Jonathan Agbidye (Katsina Ala East), Hon. Samuel Agada, and Hon. Abraham Jabi.

The Assembly had earlier lifted the suspension of Hon. Solomon Gyila (Gwer West), Rt. Hon. Williams Ortyom (Agasha); Hon. Blessed Onah (Oju I); Hon. Simon Gabo (Mata); Hon. Anyor Mato (Kwande East); and Hon. Elias Audu (Gwer East).

All the aforementioned were suspended by their own colleagues for “Dishonourable actions capable of casting aspersions and causing acrimony in the House.” They have apologised for their actions.

Hon. Aondona Dajoh (Gboko West), Speaker, presided over the session.
