The publisher of The New Facts newspaper and candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for Guma I State Constituency, Jimin Geoffrey, has appealed to constituents to entrust him with their mandate, promising accessible, humble and people-centred representation.
Mr. Jimin made the appeal in a message to Guma I constituents shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) uploaded his details on its platform ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a direct appeal to the electorate, the journalist-turned-politician urged constituents to support a candidate they know and who, in turn, knows them.
“Guma I constituents, I avail myself again. Send me and I will not disappoint you,” he said.
He identified availability, accessibility and local content as key pillars of the representation he intends to offer, urging voters to reject choices that could leave them regretting their decision.
“Don’t support regrets, had I known and all its kind,” Mr. Jimin said.
He pledged to represent the constituency with “humility and simplicity,” insisting that constituents would not have to struggle to gain access to him if elected.
“You won’t beg to get my attention. I promise to be there for you as I have always been,” he stated.
Mr. Jimin also promised to work towards what he described as “a better Guma I” if given the opportunity to serve.
The ADC candidate concluded his message by extending best wishes to constituents as the ember months approach, signalling the commencement of another phase of political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
