Former Rep Hembe appoints professor to lead his governorship campaign

Date:

The Herman Iorwase Hembe Campaign organisation has named Professor Cletus Tyokyaa as its Director-General.

Formerly Vandeikya/Konshisha Federal Constituency representative, Mr Herman Hembe, is the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for the 2027 Benue Governorship election. 2027 would be the second time Mr Hembe would be flying a political party’s flag for the Benue Governorship election, the first time being in the 2023 general elections on the platform of the Labour Party.

Other members of the campaign team include Mr Terngu Tsegba, Mr Egbiri Idaah, Mr Steve Onmeje, Lady Hanatu Ullam, Mr Sesugh Iyorter, and Alh. Musa Plato, and Mr Sule Audu.

A statement from the campaign council, signed by Dr Teryima Nyor, says that, in consultation with relevant stakeholders, more members will be co-opted onto the campaign council.

“The campaign council shall be responsible for setting up other organs, committees and groups as may be necessary to enhance a robust campaign that leads to victory for all ADC candidates in the 2027 general election,” the statement says.

TNT understands that the inauguration of the fully constituted ADC Gubernatorial Campaign Council will be announced in due course.
